We are also pleased to announce that we will once again be recording a new studio album. The following day, March 25th and still hot from our funky late night, we will be going into the studio and recording our second collection of songs. Thanks to everyone that joined us last night at the Hiro Ballroom. We had a great time and the other bands that joined us were amazing. A shoutout to Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra for putting on a great show and inviting us to open for them. Another shoutout to Emily Cavanagh for putting on a great set! Thanks to everyone who came out to the Blue Note last Saturday. We had an amazing time playing to an almost sold-out house. We hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did! Our next show will be at the amazing Hiro Ballroom on September 10. For those of you that don’t know, Hiro is a beautiful venue located in the Maritime Hotel in Chelsea. Blue Note Late Night Groove Series, Jan. 28

We spent countless hours writing music, recording, editing, mixing as well as many sleepless nights playing all over New York City.

Juicebox plays Jazz at Lincoln Center

It was a cold New York night as I gazed down at 59th street. From my vantage point on the 5th floor of Jazz at Lincoln Center I could see the wind and the cars whip around the roundabout below me.

The band was set up, sound-checked, cooling our heels while we waited. As soon as the doors open and the audience walked in Nick Myers kicked us into a soft rendition of ‘It Had To Be You’.

As the stragglers settled in, Kaylin Clinton walked onstage and began the first lyric. The mood was set, the ambiance perfect. If only our audience knew just how funky things were going to get…

And boy did it get funky. After a cool jazz set the band began heating things up with a few Kaylin Clinton originals. It wasn’t until about a minute into the Sam Cooke classic “Ain’t That News” that I looked up and noticed the crowd of dancers that had assembled in front of our band. As the band launched into “Ain’t No Sunshine” I noticed an enthusiastic thumbs up given to Kaylin by none other than Paul Shaffer, bandleader of The Late Show with David Letterman. His attaboy was echoed by Billy Crystal. Kaylin also filled us in on her tête-à-tête Robin Williams. Let’s just say they had an interesting discussion on pyscho-pharmecuticals for kids.
